Our home brew bottles were opened and the first Rough Draft crafted beers were consumed. That’s what you call a milestone folks. Our weekend was full of parties and road trips and you can read on for our look back in the full post. Let us know which beers you sampled over the course of the week or just tell us how you debauched yourself in the comments.
Justin – I’m uber proud to report that Rusty Nugget Irish Red Ale is doing very well. Saturday night a party was held for departing friend and Guest Blogger Stalemem who will be leaving Rough Draft home base for greener pastures. The first bottle of Rusty Nugget was passed around and complimented by many. It seems as though our first attempt at brewing was successful. Now, if Jeff can get his ass in gear, we’ll post the video for your viewing enjoyment. Along with the Rusty Nugget, bottles of Dragon’s Milk were purchased as going away gifts, PBR flowed, Great Lakes Elliot Ness was consumed, and various other intoxicants made their rounds. Needless to say, Sunday was used for recovery. Thank god for Mexican food and the recuperative powers of the margarita. May the wind stay at your back, Stalemem. Slainte’.
Jeff- I was at the same party as Justin on Saturday. In fact, it was at my house. I went cheap on drink for the night with PBR as my wallet recovered from my ulcerated week. I must say I am very surprised as how good the Rusty Nugget tasted after just a week bottle conditioning. Goodbye Stalemem, slanty…. slanty.
Danny - Far away from the RD home office, I’m feeling kind of left out of the party on the Rusty Nugget home brew project. The eventual video will be all new to me when it makes its way to the site. That said, my weeks rarely go without some new beer or another. Having road tripped to the beautiful city of Cleveland some Great Lakes beer was in order. Despite having been a little rough on Great Lakes in the past, the Dortmunder Gold was really impressive. I will definitely keep an eye out for this golden lager going forward. Other beers of note include Three Philosophers (write-up to follow), Rogue Dead Guy, and some Dos Equis in downtown Cleve.

I tapped a keg of American wheat I brewed a while back.
Thanks to all for the party & drinks. For the weekend I had Natty Lite & ice, PBR, Dragons Milk, Guinness 250, Smithwicks, Jameson, Windsor, Vodka, and plenty of water sunday.
