twilightale

It might be because we received this beer for free that we thought it was delicious but Deschutes Brewery’s Twilight Ale left us salivating for more. In fact, as gross as it sounds, we salivated so much that it filled our empty bottle back up and we were fooled into thinking it was a brand new bottle.

Deschutes is based out of central Oregon and is named after the Deschutes River. They’ve been brewing since 1988. Twilight Ale is one of their seasonal beers (June-September). They describe it on their website as “…a lighter, but full flavored ale with a balanced malt profile and a harmonious blend of four hops. A final dry hopping of bold Amarillos creates the distinctive finishing touch. Twilight is best enjoyed when chilled and consumed outdoors.” We did not drink ours outdoors, we could hardly wait for it to get completely cool in the refrigerator.

We aren’t sure if we can find Deschutes locally because we haven’t looked yet. We hope to try more varieties in the future. If Twilight Ale is a beer that they only keep around for part of the year, then we would love to try the ones that are always in stock!
